That's right. Crank up the theme to The Jeffersons. I've been promoted!
My new title will be Librarian II, which is almost as cool as being a second level magic user.
I'll be working in the Reference Department, where I'll return to active desk duty ("What's the airspeed of the Goodyear blimp?") as well as handle some of the website and internal web pages.
I won't actually switch over for a couple weeks, so now I've got time to start working on getting my reference chops back and to bone up on my html.
Numeralogy and My Birthday
I'm also moving on up in age, celebrating my 33rd birthday next Monday. It's a time for reflection. The numeralogist in me is contemplating the switch from a number that was a perfect power of 2 (2 to the fifth) to an odd number that only has 3 and 11 as factors. 32 was a good year for me. I sold my house and moved to the country and switched jobs, among many other things. I imagine that the 3 and 11 signify that I will need to work harder in the coming year, but that there's still some synergy going on, with the combination of two prime numbers. Prime numbers are good, right?
I've never thought much of it before, but I've always thought that I had a lucky birthday: 5/7. Everybody likes 7 as a lucky number and 5 is a good number too. I mean, it must be better than 9/11 or 12/7. Well maybe 12/7 was lucky for someone, like a Japanese pilot. What about 8/6? Maybe I'm thinking too much.
Realize I say all of this without any study of numeralogy whatsoever....
