Waughblog 2.0
I've just returned from a three day conference in Arlington, VA called Computers in Libraries. The theme of the conference was Beyond Library 2.0. I learned a lot, so after I recover from the infromation overload, I'm daydreaming that I will be upgrading my websites, including Waughblog. Soon, there may be a Waughblog 2.0.
My original conception of the conference was that I would be meeting the supernerds. You know librarians are nerdy. Computer geeks are nerdy. So when you meet the computer geeky librarians, you will find the supernerds. But actually I was impressed with the hipness. Maybe it's like the computer geekiness cancels out the libraian nerdiness.
Or perhaps the problem is that I'm actually one of them and I get excited about the concept of a permalink in an OPAC record or a wiki of frequently asked reference questions or podcasting library literacy courses.
Over the next couple weeks I'll be going over my notes and commenting on them. I'll also have some vacation photos from the weekend before that my wife and I spent in D.C. And at the same time, you might find me updating the look, feel, and interactivity here at the Waughblog.
But at the time being, I'm a little tired. Those supernerds wore me out.
