A Double Shot of Mike Waugh

You can get double the Mike Waugh music you would normally get by being at the North Gate Tavern this Thursday, February 15.

First my new two piece band, Blind Deer, will be opening. I play electric rocking guitar and sing all the songs while my trusty sidekick, Kevin Duffy, pounds on the drums. It's loud and in your face. It's a heavy dose of original Mike Waugh music, a little bit angry, a little bit quirky. I'd describe the music as the White Stripes, meets the Pixies, with a touch of Talking Heads. Maybe Blind Deer is a good remedy to an overly sweet Valentine's Day.

Then I switch over to the bass and play with my new five piece band, Local 309. We're the hardest working band I've ever played with, totally blue collar music. This is the remedy to the oppressive corporate music so popular these days. This is music for the working man. A little bit of Allman Brothers, a little bit of Louisiana funk, a bit of Exile on Main Street Rolling Stones.
