Local 309 MySpace

It took all of an hour, but the MySpace page for Local 309 is now up:

The recordings are very rough demos, with one featuring John Smart on vocals (aaak!) and another without vocals entirely. And I don't play on any of them. But it might give you an idea of what our music sounds like.

We'll be playing with Righteous Buddha this Friday, October 27 at Chelsea's Cafe. Apparently, John's pretty good friends with those guys in Buddha and was able to get us in as the opening band.

Except for Ross who lives in Lake Charles, we've been practicing a bit and are getting tighter than a homophobic gnat's butt.

If you don't know who we are:

Baton Rouge based Local 309 formed in 2006 to bring back southern rock to the Baton Rouge music scene. The band features John Smart (Righteous Buddha) on Hammond B3 organ, Ross Granger (of Lingus) on guitar, Chad Holland on vocals and guitar, Mike Waugh (Pinecone on Tent, Nuevo Hippie Cover Band) on bass, and Doug Gay (Lingus, the Elements) on drums. Think of us as a south Louisiana take on the Allman Brothers or Government Mule.
