The guitarist in the Mike Waugh Trio quit the band!
Sometimes, I feel like I go through guitarists like paper towels. But I guess I've actually had a decent track record. It's certainly happened before: where I've played in a band that practiced a lot and then played one or two shows before disbanding. (A saying comes to mind: a whole lot of run for a short little slide). But I think I can count the times on one hand, perhaps only three fingers, now that I think about it.
He had a good excuse, that he wanted to concentrate on his academics. But it is kind of like getting dumped, and I have to wonder: was it something I did? In the desire to be a benelovent dictator, did I come across as too soft, or too pushy?
But I guess that's not healthy thinking.
The important thing is to move on, and to develop more stable relationships. Perhaps my drummer and I will become closer. Perhaps we'll soldier on as a two-piece, with me switching over to guitar. Who knows what the future holds?
Why do I feel like my friend who went to eHarmony and filled out the questionnaire, only to be told that he was among the 1% of people that they couldn't find a match for?
