Facial Recognition Test
My wife and I tracked down some photos to figure out which celebrities we looked like, at least acording to the MyHeritage Facial Recognition Demo.
I was quite pleased to find out that I was matched with none other than Sir Laurence Olivier. He has always seemed to me to be a striking fellow.
Another pose yielded something quite freaky:
Who the heck is David Coulthard? How can I look like someone whose face is all covered up. He looks like one of the sperm from Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask! I guess my hair and the fact that my hand partially covers the chin might have tricked the computer.
My wife about had a coniption when one of the first photos compared her to Mother Theresa. So we kept trying different pictures, but for some reason, the computer kept matching her to male celebrities.
Here she is as Hugh Grant.
And here she is with short hair, matched with Syd Barrett. What's going on here?
Strangest of all, is this match with Bob Dylan. This is a very striking photo of my wife! At least it's a young Bob Dylan. I was starting to get jealous. I wished I looked like those people!
Then we decided to plug in pictures of our brothers.
Here is my brother-in-law, Chase.
At first I thought it was the computer reacting to his photo with pure terror. Then I realized it simply thought that he looked like Janet Leigh from Psycho, albeit a panicked and wet version of her.
Then I found this close-up photo I took of my brother, Robert.
I knew my brother was a commie at heart. One with a bad mustache. Maybe that's why he has rejected capitalism.
But what's this? My brother looks like Sir Laurence as well. And a different picture of him at that, a cute blond hair version! Oh, I guess handsomeness runs in the family after all.
Hey,
This would make for some fun at a gathering with digital camera. I tried group pictures and it gave examples for each person in the group, one was one of your wedding pics and another was a group shot of Amber, Audrey & Buddy Boy. The results were hilarious.
I was thinking that as well. It would make a great parlor game. You can do it with old photos as well as snap some new ones.
I was already wondering if you guys had a scanner for when I came up to visit, so we could dig up some childhood photos, and maybe some of your photos from the 70s and 80s.
Did you try Jim? Who does he look like?
I think anyone with one raised eyebrow gets a hit for me. With that pic, though, I wonder why Droopy didn't pop up?
How about Alec Baldwin?
Here's the result.
