Chelsea's is Opening
My brother and I have been working on the Chelsea's website under an uncertain deadline, (which means that we've been putting it off for as long as possible). But the deadline got more certain today with this announcement that I just posted on the Chelsea's Cafe website.
Saturday, March 18, Chelsea's Cafe is opening its doors for the first time at its new location at the Perkin's Road overpass.
Chelsea's will open at 8am, which is a special early opening for the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. We will close at 2 am.
Chelsea’s Cafe and Beauvoir Park present a Saint Patrick’s Day Party, located directly behind Chelsea’s Cafe. The party will feature live music, provided by the Captain Legendary Band, Righteous Buddha, and Chicago Al. The party will start when you get there; the music will start after the parade.
A beer truck will be on premises. Admission is free, but please, no ice chests.
So here are our temporary hours: Saturday, March 18 8am-2am. Bar open only. Kitchen closed.
After that: Monday-Thursday, the kitchen is open 4pm-10pm. The bar is open 4pm-2am.
Friday, the kitchen is open 11am-10pm. The bar is open 11am-2am.
Saturday, the kitchen is open 4pm-10pm. The bar is open 4pm-2am.
You may wonder, "Where is the Chelsea's website?" Well, Mike accidentally canceled the old web host before switching the nameserver over to the new web host. My stepfather described it as "burning your bridge before you cross over." Really though, the old webhosts didn't have a graceful method for moving web domains away from their services, and even charged 25 bucks to that wrong. The site should come back up soon.
But the transition was bound to be jarring since Chelsea's is moving from the world of prefabricated, entry-level websites that cost more than they're worth to the more maleable, "get someone's brother to build it" web hosting environment.
And don't miss the St. Patty's Day Party at Chelsea's... you couldn't pick a better event to celebrate the reopening of Chelsea's. They go right over the overpass.
