| Music, media, libraries and my tortuous ascent into the middle class. |
After reading through some other blogs, I've noticed that I haven't blogged enough about the technical aspects of blogging. I mean, what other use is there in having a website than to prove that you're smart? Here's a random example from my brother's blog.
And today I finally installed Instiki on my iBook. For anyone else having trouble with the OS X build, you might want to do as I did… I installed it from RubyGems and fired it up from the Terminal. I suspect the prebuilt package is one of those OS X 10.3 (Panther) only applications… just like the Ruby 1.8x installer. Sometimes I think Mac users are our own worst enemies.
I should be saying stuff like that!
So I've decided I need to become more tech savvy. Before, whenever Waughblog needed something, I would just get Waughblog tech support (aka Robert Waugh the Younger) to make any changes that I want. But now it's time for me to stop hiding under his wing.
So I struck out on my own and added a new feature to the Waughblog sidebar. Thanks to a web service called All Consuming, I will now have my current reading list displayed. However, I should point out that Robert did recommend this service to me first. But it's a start!
For my next trick I might make this word italics.
OOPS!
