We must have SUCKER painted on our foreheads. We have taken in two very cute doggies. We've named them Mama and Papa.
Here's Papa.
He'd make a great housedog. He only weighs 20 pounds. He's very affection and is in perfect health: no heartworms and no intestinal worms. He doesn't seem to like other dogs, except for Mama. He's cute as a button.
Here's Mama.
She's a little bigger than him, weighing in at 30 pounds. We're guessing that they are about 2 years old. She's also very affectionate. It looks like she just had puppies. She does has some bald spots, but the vet checked her out and said it wasn't mange or anything like that. She was covered with fleas when we found her and she must be allergic to them. So now that we've taken care of the flea problem then her hair should grow back fine. She does have some heartworms, but not too bad. A couple years of Heartguard should take care of them. She's pretty laid back, and she seems to get along with other dogs.
We're getting them both fixed this Monday and we'll start looking for homes for them. If you are interested in adopting one of them or both, then email me or just leave a comment. They are in love with each other, so it would be nice if they could stay together.
Update:Papa has found a loving home, while we decided to keep Mama. We renamed her Eleanor and she's now a part of our family.

Not for long if you get them fixed, they'll just become idiotic and indifferent to each other, a mere semblance of their former selves. Why they should be happy you 'rescued' them is anyones guess. Probably because they just don't know what you're up to.

Don't you ever listen to Bob Barker? It is always best to spay or neuter you pets. And if they are already spayed or neutered they have a better chance of being adopted, and will have a healthier life.
They have returned from the vet and I am happy to report that they are still very much in love with each other. But strangly enough, Papa seems to like other dogs now.
I do suspect that they are happier now that they are rescued, which I determine by the wagging of their tails, the licking of my face, and their playing. They have food and shelter. They are clean and no longer have fleas. Our home may not be much, but it is a veritable canine Shangri-La when when compared to the parking lot of Cortana Mall.

We had found a good home for Papa (see Cute Dog Finds Good Home), but the people hwo adopted him divorced or broke up or something and brought him back to the shelter after 3 months. We're still looking for a home for him. We aren't looking to sell him, but just find him a good home, which means meeting certain criteria. The shelter (CAAWS) might have an adoption fee, however.

Those dogs are wonderful, and sooooooooooooo cute! I'm glad that they are both now in good hands!
