Panda Climbs Up the Google Rank

from the desk of Robert, the Great Waugh of China

Forget Mike Waugh's quote in a nationally distributed magazine. My Great Panda Joke #2 has now climbed to the bottom of the first page in the Google rankings for "panda joke". After only two months it has dislodged 70 other hits.

It hasn't surpassed the original Panda joke made famous in Eats, Shoots & Leaves, but that's to be expected. I've enacted only the first stage of my assault. Next I plan to write a witty book on nomenclature and classification which will feature my Great Panda Joke #2 on the back cover. Called Everything Black & White, it will explain why the Brontosaurus is now called the Apatosaurus by some people and why most sane people still call it Brontosaurus (my spell-check doesn't know that Apatosaurus is a word.)

It will, of course, be a wildly successful book, and the Great Panda Joke #2 will be quoted on dozens -- if not hundreds -- of websites. And then, once my joke becomes the #1 Panda Joke... well, I mustn't give away too much of my plan.

How about this one:

A panda walks into a bar. The bartender asks him, "What can I get you?"

The panda pauses and takes out a small bamboo shoot and begins to chew on it.

The bartender begins to get impatient. "Look, I don't have all night here."

So then the panda pulls out a gun and shoots up the bar. On the way out, the panda drops a note on the floor.

The frazzled bartender picks up the note. The note reads, "Mike Waugh got straight A's in library school."
