Mike Versus Eddie

Joan from the club sent me this picture of me playing against Eddie Cramp.

Eddie has a great worldy accent (Australian, perhaps?) and a wonderful sense of humor. I guess he needs to have a great sense of humor to play me because I usually steamroll all over him. After playing YWIS right after some other obscure word against him a while back, he cracked that he didn't know that we were playing in Latvian. Ha!

But he did get a game against me recently when I unsuccessfully challenged his UNLOADER.

This picture was taken at a Scrabble party we had for Melody Ness, a Baton Rouge club regular who has moved to China.

Now that I think of it, these Scrabble players are not only a wordy bunch, but they are a worldy bunch as well. Eddie is always away on business at some far corner of the globe. Joan just got back from visiting Melody in China, after just returning from the Carribean and Caroline is about to go to Italy.

As for myself, I'm headed off in a couple weeks to exotic Columbus, Ohio to play my brother in some Scrabble games.

I'm also glad to get this picture because the other day I had brought my camera with me to take pictures of my boards and when I got home I realized that I should have taken pictures of my fellow Scrabblers as well.
